A novel aperture‐coupled circularly polarized microstrip antenna with a three‐stub hybrid coupler feed circuit in order to generate broadband circular polarization radiation is proposed. The bandwidth is 32.3% for 2:1 VSWR and 42.6% for 3‐dB axial ratio. The achievable maximum gain is 8.8 dBic. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
