A new, very simple concept is proposed for realizing dual‐frequency antennas with arbitrary frequency separation. This idea is based on the SSFIP antenna principle and the use of a microstrip lowpass filter. It can be easily extended to any number of frequencies by simply adding antenna elements and low‐pass filters. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 39: 472–475, 2003
