In this paper, the experimental demonstration of a direction‐of‐arrival (DOA) estimation algorithm, based on power measurements and suitable for switched‐beam array antennas operating in the millimeter‐wave band, is reported. Simulation and experimental results for the proposed algorithm using a four‐element array antenna operating at 60 GHz have been obtained, showing excellent agreement. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
