A distributed amplifier circuit can be adapted to form a non‐reciprocal four‐port coupler, which can be integrated in an MMIC such as an MMIC feedforward linearizer. This paper illustrates, by simulation, the potential for these couplers. Control of the coupling factor is discussed and the boundary of realisable circuit components is studied. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
