An analytic formulation to study the reception process, at an oblique angle of incidence, of a linear‐wire antenna excited by a transient short signal is proposed. The current, the charge components, and the scattered electric field are computed in the time domain. This modeling leads to a consistent parametric study which is a first and useful step for the development of an ultra‐wide bandwidth (UWB) communication system. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
