Multipath interference can be removed from constant envelope signals using adaptive channel equalization based on the constant modulus algorithm (CMA). To be useful in a vehicular mobile radio system, adaptation must occur rapidly by using uncomplicated and cost‐effective hardware. This paper will present a new multiplier‐less filter structure based on logarithmic algebra with anticipated savings in computational complexity. This paper will discuss the filter application for analogue FM multipath reduction.
