This paper presents theoretical and experimental results for a novel three‐pole HTS lumped‐element narrowband filter with central frequency 1.7775 GHz and 0.84% fractional bandwidth. A high degree of miniaturization is reached by the use of planar coils as inductance elements. Good performance on YBCO devices has been achieved. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
