A novel method of computation of input impedance detected by a feed probe leads to a simple technique of designing a dual‐band dual‐polarized microstrip antenna using a shorting‐pin‐loaded circular patch. The computation of the radiation pattern displays a slant‐polarized antenna, in which the tilt angle follows the angular location of the shorting pin. Comparisons with simulated results show good agreement. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
