In this paper, a technique to minimize the variability of the scattering coefficients in multihole directional couplers is shown. The technique also controls important features of the frequency response like bandwidth and minimum directivity. Several examples are presented to show the method's capabilities. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
