A relatively simple method of derivation of the Green's function for vertical current sources embedded in uniform waveguides has been described. The question of singularity of the electric dyadic Green's function in the source region has been discussed, and an appropriate form of the singular component, as regards the numerical treatment, has been derived and validated. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
