In this Letter the effects of the adjacent channels on the IP3 and the 1‐dB compression point of a RF amplifier are investigated with the use of a three‐tone test instead of single‐tone and two‐tone tests in the conventional 1‐dB and IP3 investigations. The results show that the 1‐dB point and the IP3 have been lowered because of the adjacent channel signals. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
