This Letter describes a dual‐band microstrip patch antenna with a balanced center‐fed feeding configuration and a pair of slots near the radiating edges of the patch. The effects of the slots on the impedance and radiation characteristics of the antenna are experimentally examined. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
