Chassis shape and element design dominate portable antenna circuit and radiation properties. In terms of far‐field pattern and input reflection magnitudes, this work experimentally investigates at 1.9 GHz the interplay between the element, handset size, and feed‐line radiation suppression techniques. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
