The design of multilayer bandpass filters, based on a novel 0.75λ‐thick metal dielectric window is demonstrated. The filters employ layers of high dielectric material together with planar periodic arrays of metal inclusions. These filters can be applied from the millimeter waves up to the IR regime. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
