A spur reduction technique for fractional‐N frequency synthesis is proposed. This technique can fully suppress the fractional spurs. Furthermore, it provides a simple solution to spur reduction and requires only two 2‐to‐1 multiplexers added to the conventional fractional‐N frequency divider. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
