A printed integrated inverted‐F antenna is introduced which operates in the Bluetooth frequency band (2.4–2.485 GHz). The proposed antenna is a part of the radio frequency printed circuit board (PCB) of a cellular telephone or a personal digital assistant (PDA). The antenna being an integral part of the PCB reduces the cost and complexity of designing and manufacturing a separate antenna. The maximum dimension of the antenna on standard FR4 substrate is 25 × 5 × 1 mm 3 . The antenna operates within 2:1 voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) and has a free‐space peak gain of 1.5 dBi. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
