In this paper, a complex circuit model is introduced for an RF choke by considering the magnetic, dielectric, and eddy current effect in ferrite. By calculating the active power and reactive power in an RF inductor, the resistive components and capacitive, inductive components in the circuit model are extracted. The circuit model is useful to determine the total loss and loss components with different magnetization levels at different frequencies. © 2002 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
