In this letter, a transverse slit within the signal line in a coplanar waveguide (CPW) structure is modeled as series inductance and parallel capacitance, and the simple formulas for the capacitance and the inductance are introduced. Also, a broadband harmonic‐suppressed filter (12.5–50 GHz), a band‐rejection filter, and a finite‐ground (FG)–CPW low‐pass filter (LPF) with this structure are demonstrated. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
