Simulation results for a small‐size probe‐fed notched patch antenna with a shorting post are presented. The area of the patch has been reduced by 94%, while the antenna maintains a bandwidth of 13.2%. The antenna can be designed to operate in the dual‐band mode. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
