The domain‐product technique is applied to modeling of H‐ and E‐plane loaded waveguide junctions with a rectangular connecting cavity. A specific use of the edge condition accelerates the convergence of the solution. Very high efficiency of the technique is demonstrated by the example of the right‐angle bend. The approach is also suitable for T‐junctions and cross junctions. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 31: 305–308, 2001.
