Mol. Nutr. Food Res . 2017, 61 , 1600301. DOI: 10.1002/mnfr.201600301 The glycomacropeptide (GMP)‐derived peptide IPPKKNQDKTE activates the insulin receptor substrate (IRS)/protein kinase B (Akt) signaling pathway by increasing phosphorylation levels of AMP‐activated protein kinase (AMPK) in high‐glucose‐induced insulin resistant HepG2 cells. This ultimately modulates high‐glucose‐induced abnormal gluconeogenesis and glycogen synthesis.
