Mol. Nutr. Food Res . 2016, 60 , 2678–2690. DOI: 10.1002/mnfr.201600032 The yeast β‐glucan (BYGlc) orally given to diet‐induced obese/type 2 diabetic mice improves hepatic glucose‐lipid homeostasis. BYGlc decreases blood glucose through inhibiting intestine SGLT‐1 expression, and alters the gut microbiota by increasing Akkermansia population, which may be associated with reduced inflammation.
