Mol. Nutr. Food Res . 2016, 60 , 1912–1923. DOI: 10.1002/mnfr.201501008 Mango beverage (rich in gallotannins) inhibits the IGF‐1R‐AKT/mTOR axis, and pomegranate beverage (rich in ellagitannins) downregulates the mTOR downstream pathway through reduction of ERK1/2 in DSS‐treated rats. Gallic and ellagic acid are predicted in silico to bind to specific targets, such as IGF‐1R and EGFR.
