This article presents a high‐isolation dual‐frequency rectangular patch antenna utilizing microstrip feed line integrated with a cascade defected microstrip structure (CDMS). Two types of CDMS are added, T‐shaped CDMS and Dumbbell‐T‐shaped CDMS. Simulation results show using these structures improve isolation up to 70 dB and reduce harmonic signals from transmitter. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J RF and Microwave CAE, 2011.
