A 94.5‐GHz coplanar to rectangular transition for satellite telecommunications is analyzed via the finite‐element method (FEM). Particular attention is devoted to the effects of manufacturing tolerances, and a full statistical behavior, extracting the effects of single geometrical details, is presented. Obtained data are validated by the measurements of the prototypes. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J RF and Microwave CAE, 2006.
