An integrated overview of CAD/CAE tools for nonlinear circuits design is presented, bridging the existing gaps between simulation algorithms, modeling strategies, and laboratory characterization procedures. This article reviews the most important RF circuit‐analysis techniques, as well as the mathematical circuits' and devices' representation, and discusses important design validation aspects. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
