In this paper, we introduce the concept of Berinde's cyclic contraction that is a generalized cyclic contraction mapping by using the idea of weak contraction mapping which is defined by Berinde and prove best proximity point theorems for such a mapping in metric space with proximally complete property, Our results improve and extend the recent results of Eldred and Veeramani and some authors.
