This paper is devoted to study the periodic nature of the solution of the following max‐type difference equation:x n + 1 = maxA nx n − 1, x n − 2,n = 0 , 1 , … , where the initial conditions x −2 , x −1 , x 0 are arbitrary positive real numbers and{ A n } n = 0 ∞is a periodic sequence of period two.
