Dedicated to Professor Dr. Martin Costabel on the occasion of his 65th birthday.Martin Costabel showed in his celebrated paper on boundary integral operators on Lipschitz domains Ω ⊂ R nalso that the trace theorem for functions in H s (Ω) holds for s ∈1 2 , 3 2and not only for1 2 < s ≤ 1 . Here, we show that his approach can be extended to C k − 1,1 ‐domains with s ∈1 2 , k + 1 2. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
