The evolution model of a microstructure described as appropriately generalized Young measures, which was developed in [11], is discretized here by means of a suitably adapted finite element method. The convergence of the approximate solutions is proved, and a one‐dimensional example is treated to discuss some implementation experience and to show some illustrative results.
