Abstract Described is a case where an afferent arteriovenous anastomosis was successfully employed in the replantation of a large piece of composite tissue amputated from a patient's thumb. The operative procedure is described and aspects of arterialized venous vascular networks are discussed. © 1994 Wiley‐Liss, Inc.
