Microsurgical techniques are used to anastomose the ciliary and internal ophthalmic arteries and veins of the autotransplanted eyes of sheep to restore the circulation. Microscopic inspection and fluorescein angiography showed early patency of the anastomoses and the return of circulation to the retinal vessels. The applications of such an experimental model are discussed.
