A new survey examining Taliban control of Afghanistan and its impact on American war veterans found that the majority of Afghanistan veterans 18 and older have struggled with their mental health since serving in Afghanistan. During the month of August, the Taliban overran Afghanistan as U.S. troops left the country following a 20‐year war. The Afghanistan fall intensified veterans' mental health struggles, according to the survey.
