The direct and indirect costs of caring for the estimated 2.65 million people living with schizophrenia in the United States is a whopping estimated $281.6 billion in 2020, with a significant amount of the cost due to health care, incarceration, supportive housing and homelessness. The new report was released July 14 by the Schizophrenia & Psychosis Action Alliance (S&PAA).
