Rather than wait the typical year or two following the release of federal or state data in order to assess the mental health effects and develop policy or programs to address a crisis, Mental Health America (MHA) last month released its first‐ever state‐ and county‐level data analyzing suicide risk during the pandemic. The “real‐time” analysis examines the results of 750,000 individuals who took a depression screen on MHA's website in 2020.
