Following an executive order on gun violence issued last month by the Biden administration to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to publish “red flag” legislation for states to address the issue, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) in a letter to the DOJ urged a focus on effective solutions that do not discriminate against people with mental illness.
