Taking note of the long‐standing concerns about the availability of behavioral health treatment, particularly for low‐income individuals, a new report from the Government Accountability Office (GAO) suggests that one potential barrier to treatment access has been shortages of qualified behavioral health professionals, particularly in rural areas.
