A first‐of‐its‐kind study examining the links between emotional support animals (ESAs) and improvements in an individual's mental, emotional and/or physical health has found that nearly all participants felt an increased sense of security and activity levels. The research, coincidentally, has been released around the same time the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) announced it is revising its regulations on ESAs on flights.
