Conversations with his young‐adult peers kept demonstrating to Phillip Schermer the presence of a deep‐seated mental health crisis that couldn't be attributed to early‐career challenges alone. Commonly uttered themes around “stress” and “mood” were hinting at an epidemic of unaddressed depression and anxiety among those in the millennial and Generation Z age groups.
