Several health, civil rights and mental health organizations this month announced their support of legislation that would improve access to mental health services for Black, Indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) communities. The bill, introduced by two members of the House, would fund these services under the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Admin‐istration (SAMHSA) Community Mental Health Services Block Grant Program.
