Although young people with serious mental illness may find it difficult to engage in treatment, they can be helped in the engagement process by learning to open up to their providers about their feelings and advocating for themselves to determine the right treatment, suggests a researcher whose work centers on adolescents and young adults, during a webinar developed under contract by the National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors (NASMHPD).
