In the 15 years since an innovative program in Massachusetts helped families access children's mental health services by allowing primary care doctors to receive consultations from mental health experts, the program continues to reap benefits. Many states have since initiated similar programs using a wide variety of models. A recent symposium addressed the history and evidence to support the model.
