The Association for Behavioral Health and Wellness (ABHW) submitted a letter to congressional leadership on April 22 that contained suggestions on mental health and addiction policy proposals to include in future COVID‐19 legislation. As Congress prepares impending COVID‐19 packages, the ABHW strongly encourages the inclusion of legislation and policies that can play a critical role in expanding access to mental health and substance use disorder services. These services will be needed as a result of the COVID‐19 public health emergency and also will provide long‐lasting improvements to the U.S. behavioral health system.
