Legislation introduced Oct. 23 to help reduce mass violence and make communities safer following two recent mass shootings and countless others is sending the wrong message, according to a coalition of mental health groups and disability rights organizations. While they appreciate support of mental health reform, the legislation erroneously focuses those efforts on people with mental health disabilities, advocates said.
