Licensed professional counselors (LPCs) across Michigan say they are elated following passage of legislation this month that would prevent proposed rules by the state Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) that would have removed the ability of professional counselors to diagnose patients and offer them psychotherapy.
