Partnerships between local mental health providers and an organization financed by billionaire investor and hedge fund manager Steven Cohen are giving rise to low‐cost clinics to meet the needs of post‐9/11 military veterans and their families. Rather than being seen as an alternative to veterans services provided by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the care delivered at these facilities fills gaps in communities with a heavy military/veteran presence, with the VA often serving as the primary referral source for these sites.
