In an atmosphere of change that Arkansas community mental health providers characterize as “too much too soon,” leaders in the provider community last week described to MHW what they see as a shattering of the state's public mental health system. The most dramatic effect of the strains on the system has been last month's announcement that the Little Rock Community Mental Health Center will close in late September after more than 50 years of service to the community.
