When New York City's first lady and mayor announced the comprehensive ThriveNYC mental health initiative in late 2015, observers hailed it as a groundbreaking demonstration of government commitment and a potential national model. In recent months, however, ThriveNYC has been the subject of criticism in the local media and intense scrutiny of funding that some say has generated too little in the way of results.
