Nevada officials and the state's psychiatric hospital are liable for nearly $9 million in class‐action damages for sending patients with mental illness to other states unaccompanied and without resources, according to local news reports. Following a class‐action lawsuit, a Nevada jury has determined that patients wrongly discharged will each receive approximately $250,000 each.
