These guidelines were prepared for the Royal Meteorological Society by a working group with the following membership: Dr Rex Britter (Cambridge University), Prof. Chris Collier (Meteorological Office), Prof. Richard Griffiths (UMIST), Dr Paul Mason (Meteorological Office), Dr David Thomson (Meteorological Office), Dr Roger Timmis (Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Pollution) and Dr Brian Underwood (AEA Technology Consultancy Services). The Chairman of the working group was Prof. Griffiths. The guidelines are published in collaboration with the Department of the Environment.
